FIFA 18 is expected to have a lot of new features and modes but what we don’t realize is that EA is out of a cover star for the game. Therefore, we can expect a top player as the new face for FIFA 18.
Today, we look into top contenders for FIFA 18 Cover Stars.
The Real Madrid star is officially out of contract with Konami for PES series. The Japanese developers had the Barcelona players’ in their previous PES 2017 game and they are most likely not to go after the Portuguese captain.
EA Sports are seriously considering signing a long-term contract with Cristiano Ronaldo for him to be the brand franchise for FIFA 18 and games after that. The 31-year old would be a perfect as the players don’t seem to stop even after progressing on the age of thirties.
However, Ronaldo is not cheap to negotiate. He will cost the game developers much more than what they offered Messi for their previous FIFA game cover.
Neymar Jr. seems like a viable option for EA to make his front cover star. The 24-year old has a lot of years of football to come and we already know he is one for the books. He never seems to give anything but his best for his club and country which makes him perfect for the cover of FIFA 18.
But, Neymar has an existing contract with FIFA’s rival PES. He appeared in PES 2016 covers and had a part in PES 2017 cover.
EA shouldn’t wait for the Brazilian star’s contract to expire to move him to FIFA’s side. They should try to sway Neymar with a contract he cannot deny to hook him for the official FIFA 18 Cover.
The Chelsea star has proven his worth once again this season after failing to perform as good in his 2014-15 season. He has established himself to be a team player with individual traits and personal desire behind playing.
We can see EA targeting someone like him for FIFA cover. If they sign him for the cover of FIFA 18, we can expect the developers to hand him a long-term contract for upcoming versions of FIFA game series.
The cover star for FIFA 17, Marcos Reus is one of the popular players who the fans want to see the covers of FIFA 18. The Dortmund attacker has had a decent season but his individual performances and traits are still his best.
It is very likely that if EA organizes another cover poll, Reus is going to be in the disk covers for 18. That is why EA should just sign a contract with the German midfielder rather than going into voting.
The new Manchester United man still has a lot to prove after record move from Italian side Juventus. He has half a season to show his brilliance and EA will be looking closely at how he performs.
It has been suggested that EA already had a previous talk with the French midfielder about a potential contract for covers but it didn’t go through. A full from Pogba is likely to make it to the covers for FIFA 18.
Could Messi be back?
Probably not. The first reason for us saying that is because it apparently ended badly when the contract was not extended by EA Sports last year. The second is, Messi and Barcelona are now in contracts with FIFA’s rival PES until one more year.
